NOW FAITH

I greet you with the peace of the Lord. Today, Friday 26 July 2024, the short message I want to convey to you is inspired by a verse written in:
Hebrews 11:1 (NIV)

“Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.”

Today's verse invites us to reflect deeply on the nature of faith. It tells us that faith is not a simple feeling or an act of blind hope, but is something much deeper and more concrete: it is a certainty. A certainty of things we do not yet see, a demonstration of realities that are invisible to our physical eyes.
What does this mean?
Let's imagine an artist who, before painting a masterpiece, has a clear and complete image in his mind of what he wants to create. That image is his certainty, his faith. Even if the painting is not yet realized, the artist acts with conviction, knowing that his vision will become reality.
Likewise, Christian faith is the certainty that God exists, that he has a plan for us and that his promises will be fulfilled. It is the belief that Jesus is the Son of God and that his death and resurrection have saved us.
Why is faith so important?
Faith gives us the strength to face life's challenges, to overcome difficulties and to keep hope alive even in the darkest moments. It allows us to see beyond appearances and grasp the spiritual reality that surrounds us.
Faith is a precious gift that allows us to live a life full of meaning and hope. By cultivating our faith, we can experience the joy of an intimate relationship with God.

Together we pray to the Lord telling him: God of heaven, we thank you for the gift of faith. Help us to firmly believe in you and your promises. Give us the eyes of faith to see beyond appearances and grasp your presence in our lives. Strengthen our hope and give us the strength to face every challenge with courage and confidence. In the name of Jesus... Amen!
With love, Ivano Salerno
