ETERNAL WEIGHT OF GLORY

Peace of the Lord and have a good start to the week everyone.
For today's "Bread from Heaven", Monday 13 May 2024, the thought I felt like sharing with you has as its key verse:
II Corinthians 4:17 (NIV)

“For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all.”

Many think that our calendars, clocks, and alarm clocks control time, but the one in control of time is God. The best thing our instruments can do is measure the passage of time.
God created time and uses it to direct and guide us in setting priorities. When we think about time, we tend to think in terms of today or next week, or next month or next year, but God wants us to look at eternity. Where does God want to direct us? What must our priorities be if we want to get where God wants to lead us?
Our time will end. It is a temporary tool that God uses to take us into eternity.
What if you only have ten years left to live? How would you set your priorities differently? What's stopping you from setting them up like that now? Time passes faster than we think.
Remember this -
• Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever. Time cannot diminish Christ's love for you or His power to work in your life. It was there in the past; He is here in the present moment; and He is there in your future. With Jesus at work, it is never too late to start over.
• A thousand years is like the blink of an eye to God. God is working to bring you into eternity, not just to get you through the end of next week. Praise God for His grace and a love so strong that He wants you to spend an eternity with Him.

Today we want to pray together and say: God the Father, I thank you for how you encourage me. Thank you for your great love. Help me to give the right weight to the time you allow me to live. In the name of Jesus... Amen!
With love, Ivano Salerno
