THE RIGHT HAND OF THE LORD

I greet all of you with the peace of the Lord. For the thought I wish to share with you today, Saturday 13 July 2024, I will read a biblical verse written in:
Psalm 118:16 (NIV)

“The LORD’s right hand is lifted high; the LORD’s right hand has done mighty things!”

In the turmoil of life, we often find ourselves facing challenges and obstacles that seem insurmountable. We feel helpless, overwhelmed by the adverse current. In these times of despair, Psalm 118:16 resonates as a powerful hymn of hope and reassurance.
The right hand of God, in the Bible, represents his power, his strength and his authority. It is the hand with which He creates, redeems and protects His people. In the Old Testament, numerous occasions are told in which the divine right manifested itself with power, performing wonders and miracles to free its people from suffering and oppression.
Psalm 118, in particular, is a song of praise and thanksgiving for God's saving intervention. The psalmist, surrounded by enemies and adversities, confidently declares: "The right hand of the LORD is raised, the right hand of the LORD works wonders ." He experienced firsthand the divine power that saved him from death and gave him victory.
This verse reminds us that God is not a passive observer of our suffering. He is an active God, who intervenes in history and in our lives with his saving power. His right hand is always raised, ready to help those who invoke his help with faith.
How can we apply this message in our daily lives? When we find ourselves facing difficulties and trials, let us remember that the right hand of the Lord is raised for us. He will never abandon us. We can trust in his power and his infinite love.

Today we want to pray together to the Lord saying: Father of Love, we thank you for your immense power and for your infinite love. We praise you for the great works you have accomplished with your right hand. In our time of need, please extend your mighty hand upon us and deliver us from all evil. Give us the strength and faith to overcome difficulties and to bear witness to your glory in the world. In the name of Jesus... Amen!
With love, Ivano Salerno
