THE UNSHROLLABLE ROCK

I greet you with the peace of the Lord. Today, Friday 12 July 2024, the short message I want to convey to you is inspired by a verse that is written in:
Psalm 62:6 (NIV)

“Truly he is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will not be shaken.”

In the heart of Psalm 62, David proclaims with deep faith: "He alone is my rock and my salvation; he is my high refuge; I will not be moved" (Psalm 62:6). These words resonate as an unshakable affirmation of trust in God, a safe haven in an often turbulent and uncertain world.
The image of the rock is powerful. It evokes a sense of solidity, of unalterable firmness in the face of the storms of life. David finds this rock in God, a sure foundation on which to build his existence. It is not a simple physical rock, but a spiritual, eternal and immutable presence.
In addition to being his rock, God is also David's salvation. He is the liberator, the one who protects him from every danger and threat. David places absolute trust in God, convinced that He is the only source of true salvation.
God is also David's "high refuge", a safe and elevated place from which he observes the world with a broader perspective. From this privileged position, David does not fear being shaken by adversity, because he knows he is safe under divine protection.
The final phrase "I will not be moved" underlines David's deep security in his faith. He believes that no matter what challenges life throws at him, his faith in God will remain unshakable.
This verse from Psalm 62 invites us to reflect on our personal rock. Where do we find stability and security in our lives? Do we, like David, place our total trust in God alone?

Together we pray to the Lord telling him: God of heaven, we thank you for being our steadfast rock, the source of our salvation and our safe refuge. Help us to root our faith in You, trusting that Your love and protection will always be with us, even in the most difficult moments. Give us the strength to remain unshakable in our faith, not letting ourselves be moved by life's adversities. In the name of Jesus... Amen!
With love, Ivano Salerno
